This video will show you how to install the Honeywell Lyric security system.
The tools that you will need in order to complete the installation of the Lyric security system are as follows a box cutter or scissors, a small flat-head screwdriver, Phillips head screwdriver, wire strippers and some 22 gauge by 2 wire cut to the length of the transformer to the Lyric panel.
The first step to install the Honeywell Lyric security system will be running your power wires and mounting the back wall plate on the Lyric smart controller. This step will require a bit of planning as to where you want to have your Lyric smart controller installed. The Lyric smart controller is Honeywell's new wireless security control panel. Once you have located the designated area locate the 110 outlets that you would like to plug in your Lyric 9 Volt DC, 2.5 Amp Plug-in power transformer. You have a few options as far as running the cable, you can hardwire the cable through your walls by using a snaking tool, use a wire tube or you can guide the wire running on your baseboards and attempt to hide as best as possible.
Now that you have figured out where you want the Honeywell Lyric control panel make sure that you use the bottom left area on the mounting plate and run the power wire through that back area which is shown in the how-to video above and mount the screws securing the mounting bracket. At this point you can hang the Lyric control panel by its plastic hanger to make the following steps much easier.
The second step in installing the Honeywell Lyric security system is to mount the backup battery. This is a very simple step as the Honeywell Lyric control panel already has this mounted. The only thing you will have to do is plug the male end of the battery into the back of the Lyric control panel "don't do this just yet" as there are more steps that we must complete before powering up the Honeywell Lyric control panel such as...
Wiring up the Lyric's 9 Volt DC, 2.5 Amp Plug-in power transformer keeping in mind there is polarity. Once completed doing the same on the opposite end while wiring the Lyric controller. After this step has been completed don't apply power to the system just yet as we still need to install the cellular communicator.
To install the Honeywell Lyric cellular communicators locate the cellular sliding door on the right side of the Lyric smart controller. Slide this door up and go ahead and pull the door out. Before installing the Lyric cellular communicator locate the AID and CRC number on the white sticker. Install the cellular communicator as shown in the video and secure it into place with the screw that comes with the cellular communicator. Once completed replacing the cellular door locking it into place. This is where you will now plug in your backup battery, slide the Lyric smart controller on the mounting bracket and secure the bottom screw.
At this time we have completed the installation of the Honeywell Lyric security system and we are ready to power the Lyric controller up. To do this plug in your power transformer and wait for the security system to complete its booting cycle.
