This video is to show you how to install the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC into the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5210 wireless security system. To install the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC you must power down the system completely. To do this turn the Honeywell L5210 on its side and depress the two tabs opening the security system. When opening the Honeywell L5210 system you will hear a normal cover tamper sounding. To silence this hit the push home button located under the 4.3 inch touchscreen display. Unplug either the Honeywell LT-Cable or the power transformer wire and unplug the backup battery that you will be replacing. Remove the original backup battery by unscrewing the mounting bracket from the back mounting plate. You can now place the old battery to the side as we will no longer need it in this install. With the new Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC backup battery make sure the wire harness is facing teh bottom left of the battery and lay the battery down on the back mounting plate. Run the wiring harness from the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC through the 3 wire clips so the wires don't get pinched. Locate the battery mounting bracket and locate the L shaped part of the bracket run that underneath the battery slot to the left not to the right because we need more room to mount the higher capacity battery. Hold the bracket down into place while with your other hand you screw in the mounting screw securing the battery into place. Now you can plug in either you LT-CABLE or your power transformer wire and plug in the backup battery this battery uses the same battery terminal as the original battery with two prongs.
The Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC battery will provide your Honeywell LYNX Touch L5210 wireless security system with 24 hours of backup battery time only if you are not using a optional AlarmNet communicator such as a L5100-WIFI, ILP5, 4GL cellular communicator or a 3GL cellular communicator. The 7.2VDC Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC uses 6 2100mah nickel metal hydride single A batteries that are wired together. The Honeywell LYNX series systems do constantly monitor to see if your system is receiving AC power for what ever reason you loose AC power your system is smart enough to notify you. While your system does have AC power your Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC will constantly be charging so in the event your power does fail it will be fully charged. Though this battery does have a 24 hour backup battery time the Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC can take up to 48 hours to reach its maximum charge level. In the event you receive trouble beeps from your panel up arriving home don't panic let the battery charge for a full 48 hours and if you happen to still be getting these trouble beeps than you know its time to replace your battery. The Honeywell LYNXRCHKIT-HC has a lifetime between 5-7 years. If you happen to have a Honeywell LYNX series system and need to have 24 hours of backup battery time and you have a AlarmNet communicator listed above the Backup battery you will need is part number LYNXRCHKIT-SHA.
